About

Named a Classic FM 2026 Rising Star, Michal Oren is an Israeli conductor whose work is shaped by a deep sense of narrative and musical imagination. She is the next Calleva Assistant Conductor of the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra (2026–27) and one of six semi-finalists in the upcoming 80th Concours de Genève conducting competition. She is a participant in this year's Gstaad Conducting Academy and the 6th Evgeny Svetlanov Competition.

Previously, she was the Female Conductor Trainee at Opera North (2024–25) and performed in the 2024 Young Conductors' Showcase with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra. She has also won first and second prizes in international competitions in Portugal, Italy, and Spain. Michal is the founder and musical curator of the Museum Orchestra of the Petach Tikva Museum of Art, which gives musical interpretations of visual art exhibits.
